Dr. Alexandr Chatilo
Dr. Alexandr Chatilo originally received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Leningrad Medical Institute in Leningrad Russia. While in Russia, he practiced as a medical doctor specializing in Internal Medicine for numerous hospitals as well as had the opportunity to serve as a physician on an Antarctic Soviet Expedition. Dr. Chatilo's desire for more opportunities to expand his education, skills, and practice, brought him and his family to the United States in 1993.
With many years of experience as a medical doctor, Dr. Chatilo wanted to further his education and his continually growing interests in the field of medicine. After participating in a psychiatric clerkship at Stanford University School of Medicine, he moved on to complete an internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in southern California. He then continued his post graduate training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as a resident physician with the University of Washington School of Medicine.
In 2005, upon completion of his time at the University of Washington, Dr. Chatilo joined Northwest Physiatry Associates. Dr. Chatilo's expertise as a Physiatrist goes beyond private practice, as he is also the medical director for Parkridge Rehab, Richmond Beach Rehab, Health and Rehabilitation of Seattle, and is an active medical staff and committee member of Northwest Hospital.
Dr. Chatilo believes that the best patient is an educated one, and he is devoted to seeing this accomplished in a way that is culturally sensitive and respectful of each individual’s unique self. He diligently searches for treatments that address the root of the problem rather than just treating the symptoms.
"I am committed to answering my patient’s questions to ensure that they understand their options and to assist them in makin the best possible decisions regarding their treatment, health, and their quality of life."
Personal notes: Dr. Chatilo is a family man at heart. He loves to spend time with his two daughters and to bring wit and humor into any conversation. He enjoys bicycling, cross country skiing, and the outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. When he can, he also loves to visit the sunny coastlines of Mexico, one of his favorite destinations.
